The creative process is difficult to discuss for several reasons. The whole subject is so far removed from our sensory experience that it appears highly abstract. Also, the few apparently relevant experiences we do have are wrong.
The text refers to the four prime elements of Esoteric Sound, Light, Color, and Vibration. We naturally assume that the sounds we hear are similar to esoteric sound, and that the light we see is similar to esoteric light. This is not correct. From the point of view of the text, we do not see light, but the reflection of the reflection of color. We do not hear sound, but the reflection of the reflection of vibration.
Thus, when we think and picture light, we are actually thinking of color. When we think and picture sound, we are actually thinking of vibration. This confusion makes any discussion of the creative process extremely difficult. However, I will attempt a simplified description.
The portion of the creative process described thus far can be outlined as follows:
1. The Soul or Logos sends out a spark of its Self.
2. That spark sounds a creative word or note (esoteric Sound): The motion of that esoteric sound is a balanced combination or equation of the three prime motions of Spirit, Consciousness, and Substance. Those prime motions are the straight line, vortex, and circular motion.
As noted earlier, none of these three motions exists independently. They are part of a trinity and are always found together in some combination or equation.
3. The Sound awakens prime substance, which becomes Light: This light is the prime substance of the buddhic plane moving in an equation of spirit, consciousness and substance in which the motion of spirit predominates. This equation produces Esoteric Light.
4. The Light produces Color: When the prime or dark substance awakens, it still has the programming, or impression of will, of the previous solar incarnation. The Divine Plan in that solar system was the growth and development of substance. The Divine Plan in this solar incarnation is the growth and development of consciousness. The old programming alters one of the three prime colors (red, blue and green) creating The Dweller or opposition to the present Plan.
These prime colors (and their subsidiary hues) are carried downward, and reflected into the mental, astral, and physical-etheric planes, by the Soular Deva or Causal Body.
The altered prime color takes shape on the etheric plane as maya, on the mental plane as illusion, on the astral plane as glamour, and as the physical-dense world of appearance. When the Dweller is transmuted, and the altered color is corrected, the physical-dense world of appearance will disappear.
There seem to be two suggested reasons for this disappearance. Both involve the effect of the reprogramming of the Dweller and the transmutation of physical-dense matter. Either physical-dense substance will:
a. Be transmuted into three new sub-planes of the physical-etheric, and/or
b. Be uplifted in frequency to become part of the existing sub-planes of the physical-etheric.
The altered color is, again, the reason behind the difference in the prime colors of radiant and reflected color.
The altered prime color is opaque to esoteric Light, isolating the Solar Deva and trapping the indwelling consciousness. The new Soular Deva sits, with its isolated spark of consciousness, awaiting the awakening touch of its Logos. The Logos assesses its creation, and when it determines that it is good, it sounds that note that sets the Soular Deva vibrating. That vibration awakens the indwelling spark of consciousness (the Persona) and projects it downward. At this point we have the question of the relationship between the Soular Deva and the Causal Body (whether they are one and the same, and different legs of a vibration circle, or whether they are two things, with the Causal Body a reflection of the Soular Deva). I would suggest that we accept both hypothesis as inadequate but useful descriptions of the same reality.
Please keep in mind that in the above the term Logos refers to that which sounds the creative word. This may be a Solar Logos, a Spiritual Soul, or any of the states of consciousness in between. In this case, however, we are ordinarily referring to a Spiritual Soul. To continue . . .
5. The creative Word of the Logos produces Vibration: Vibration is that motion of prime substance that combines the three prime motions in an equation that emphasizes circular motion. This vibration is created when the Logos sounds a word that harmonizes with the note of the Soular Deva. This harmonic word sets the Soular Deva vibrating.
This vibration sets the Soular Deva moving in circular motion. This circular motion sends the Soular Deva down and up in frequency in regular cycles of activity.
Since we first become aware of the Soular Deva during the downward motion of its cycle, we tend to assume that this cyclic motion drives the Deva downward and then back to its starting point. This is not correct. The starting point is the mid point of the cycle, not the high point. The Soular Deva actually moves up just as far as it moves down. The upward motion places the Soular Deva in a position of receptivity to the greater Light or Logoic Body to which it aspires. The downward motion places it in a position of causality to the devas of the lower four.
The integrated persona also vibrates as a unit, taking on its own cycle of motion. These inter-related cycles are discussed further in Lesson 33.
6. The Devas of The Lower Four are Impressed by The Causal Body: The Soular Deva moves downward (driven by the vibratory motion) into a position of causative relationship to the devas of the lower four (becoming or being reflected as the Causal Body).
The mental substance, which in total constitutes the mental body, is held in form by the focused thought of the overshadowing Soul. This thought, which is actually the blueprint or framework of the three vehicles, is constant and does not change until it is destroyed by its creator. It is not the mental body but rather the essential cause of its manifestation. - The Soul and Its Instrument, by Lucille Cedercrans, p. 107
We might say that the Soular Deva is the Idea (created out of divine mind substance) while the Causal Body is the Thought-form (created out of abstract mental substance).
The overshadowing Soul sounds the creative word, and maintains the focused thought, blueprint, or etheric body, throughout the incarnation. This thought is precipitated into:
a. The physical-etheric deva, being the closest in nature to the Etheric Light Body, is the first to respond. It creates its correspondent to the Etheric Body or blueprint.
b. The mental deva, being closest in nature to Esoteric Color, is the next to respond. It creates its correspondent to the Etheric Body or blueprint.
c. The astral deva, being closest in nature to Esoteric Vibration, is the next to respond. It creates its correspondent to the Etheric Body.
d. The physical-dense is a condensation of the above three, but is closest in nature to the physical-etheric.
However, at this point there is a transition from the creative process or Magic of the Soul on Its Plane, to the Ceremonial Magic of the Lower Four Planes.
