“Discipleship in the new age, and particularly during the next fifty years as a preparation for the Coming, will work to lift Planetary kundalini from the sacral center up to the throat center, via the medium of humanity. The effort to establish right human relations in the world of affairs is necessarily linked to this, for only via the lifting of the kundalini up, out of the sacral center, will such be possible.
How can such an effect be created? Disciples have to become the positive polarity via group activity, which will attract the kundalini force within humanity upward.
They must, as a group, embody the ideal so as to exert that strong and steady magnetic influence that will attract the response of the creative fire within all human beings. The “twenty-two” has to become a reality in the world of affairs before the “two” (lowered kundalini and the door where evil dwells) can be swallowed up by the dragon.

“Those of you who have received and given serious attention to this course of instruction have responded to the Hierarchial note which is now being sounded within the body of humanity. That note affords the probationer disciple an opportunity unparalleled in human history. It presents him with the opportunity to participate in a group initiation which, if successful, during the remaining years of this century, will ensure the mass initiation of humanity into the fifth kingdom of conscious souls.
“It is realized that as yet there can be but very little grasp of the meaning of such an event. Yet, I urge each one of you to think deeply upon it, to attempt via the intuition to cognize that meaning, and to let it inspire you into a new and powerful effort to serve this goal for humanity.
“Group initiation is a concept about which there is little known, for it is a new Hierarchial effort that until now has met with little real success. This does not mean that all such efforts have failed, but that progress is seemingly slow, and to date has been at great seeming cost to the personalities involved.
“The group with which the Hierarchy is concerned is not a group of personalities defined as aspirants, probationers, or disciples. It is a group consciousness within the body of humanity, which is most receptive to, and capable of expansion into, the world of overshadowing ideas and concepts now impacting upon humanity as the new way of life.
“The great difficulty encountered by the Hierarchy in this effort has been the lack of response, within those contacted and worked with, to the real group idea. The moment the word “group” is used, the human mind thinks in terms of personalities and thus misinterprets the concept, losing the higher reality of it. Those persons who are involved forego the reality for the glamour of it, and in an illusion of self-importance as personae are rendered ineffective insofar as the group idea is concerned.
“From the perspective of the Hierarchy, the group is a state of consciousness within the body of humanity, which is shared by many persons. That state of consciousness, though it indwells a goodly part of the many, is One. It is then worked with as such, while the personae that make up its instrumentality are seen as its hands and feet, etc. It is the state of consciousness that is deliberately overshadowed with the planned activity, that is evoked into a response, and that is watched and guided into the initiatory effort.
“The Hierarchy is concerned, then, with the response of that state of consciousness as a one life or a group, rather than with the response of any separated persona, or group of personae. Not until the total group consciousness responds and embodies the new concept will the Hierarchy consider such a group in manifestation.” Ibid. pp. 477-478
“We have said that initiation is a new beginning, a new birth in awareness. The test of any initiation, whether of an individual in the past, or of a group in the present, or of the mass in the future, is the ability of the consciousness involved to use that awareness to the betterment of those within the entire sphere of influence.
“You are in the process of initiation. Your consciousness has been initiated into a new field of awareness that concerns the whole of humanity. You have been taught to think in terms of the One Life, to consider the Good, the True, and the Beautiful as it applies to that One Life. While you have been totally concerned in this study with The Wisdom, you are still within the Hall of Learning. Yet, the passageway which connects the Hall of Learning with the Hall of Wisdom lies straight before you with its doors wide, its light clearly showing the marked path, and many brothers awaiting your entry.” Ibid, p. 489
“Throughout the world there are those probationer disciples, numbering about one-sixteenth of the world’s population, who are in their totality the group now receiving Hierarchial attention. Theirs is the karmic right of opportunity, during this crisis in human affairs, to consciously restore God’s plan on earth. They form a vast state of consciousness of potential power sufficient to turn the tide of human affairs in whatsoever direction they choose, almost overnight.
“When this group consciousness and its instrumentality can be integrated into a focal point or centre, its invocative and evocative strength will be sufficient to bring in the Reappearance of The Christ. Consider such a group in meditation upon one seed-thought having to do with some specific aspect of the Plan in the world of affairs. Such a meditation would result in the rapid manifestation of those events necessary to bring the specific aspect of the Plan under consideration into appearance in the light of day. “When you have a problem, regardless of the nature of that problem, realize that it is not your own. This is a group problem, which has to be dealt with by the group. You are but a focal point through which it is making itself known to the consciousness of the group.
“Achieve as great a realization of this as is possible via meditation and reflection, and then realize further that if you, or a group unit, can arrive at the solution, the way is made easier for the entire group of probationers throughout the world.
“Then, working from within the realization of this one group life, invoke the power of the group Soul to manifest the solution, whatever it might be, throughout its total consciousness and instrumentality.” Ibid, p. 492
